South Carolina Bar
The SC Bar is featuring multiple attorneys and a judge for their efforts in helping set up the state’s sixth homeless court in Rock Hill. Attorneys raising the bar include George Cauthen and Blake Williams of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, Chief Municipal Judge Jane Modla of Rock Hill, Assistant Solicitor Hans Pauling of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, and Assistant Public Defender Kieley Sutton of the Fifth Judicial Circuit.
“The most impressive and rewarding thing about the homeless court program is the level of community cooperation. Solicitors and public defenders, police departments and homeless people, the court system, service providers, and all political persuasions come together to confront a common issue in our community and work towards the same goal,” said Williams, who is working closely with Judge Modla on the Rock Hill program.
