Atlanta partner Nina Gupta spoke with The Daily Report after being appointed outside general counsel of Atlanta Public Schools (APS), a 52,000-student system. Gupta succeeds Glenn Brock, also an Atlanta partner, in counseling APS.
"I'm very excited about this opportunity," Gupta told The Daily Report. "As a city resident, both of my children are APS graduates. My passion for public education has only grown throughout my career of working with public schools. I owe my own excellent public education for opening doors that would otherwise have been forever closed, and I consider myself very fortunate to be a small part of supporting the mission to provide an excellent public education for all students.”
Gupta is a veteran education lawyer, having spent much of her career representing public and private educational entities, vendors, and professionals. She joined the Firm in 2013 when Brock, Clay, Calhoun & Rogers, a firm co-founded by Brock, merged with Nelson Mullins.
