Since Nelson Mullins’ Baltimore debut in 2018, the firm has almost doubled in size locally, adding 15 attorneys. And the firm isn’t done yet. Baltimore Business Journal recently spoke with Tim Hodge, managing partner of the Baltimore office, on its aggressive growth strategies.
Hodge said the firm is currently looking to fill two litigation associate positions and a real estate associate position. That’s on top of the 12 lawyers Nelson Mullins has added to its Baltimore office in the last year alone. The firm will also welcome two summer associates to the full-time ranks this fall, bringing the office to 42 attorneys.
This growth, according to Hodge, is being driven by COVID-19 economic recovery and a desire by lawyers to want to work for an Am Law 100 firm. Hodge added that a large part of the firm’s business has come from local deals in Baltimore.
“Here in Maryland and in the Baltimore area, the M&A market has been very, very active,” Hodge said. “We’ve got to make sure we continue to do fantastic legal work on these transactions and get them closed to fuel even more growth.”
