In an article from Law 360 Pulse published on April 20, 2023, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP partner Amy B. Cheng was featured after the announcement that she has been named the next president of the Atlanta Bar Association.
Cheng was elected the 116th president of the Atlanta Bar, a term she will begin later this year. For the first time in the 135-year history of the Atlanta Bar Association, Cheng is the first person of Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander descent to lead the organization as president.
"I wish I could capture the feeling and the emotion into words, but I really can't," Cheng told Law 360 Pulse. "What I will say instead is I'm just excited that we now have an AAPI leader serving as president of the Atlanta Bar, which is the largest voluntary bar association in the Southeast, and hopefully out of this year, it will encourage other Asian American attorneys and other diverse attorneys to get involved with their legal community and really let their voice shine."
