25 Women: Attorney Ginger Boyd making a difference with Food for Thought

Now in its 14th year, the 25 Women You Need to Know program is the Tallahassee Democrat’s way of honoring women who lead. This year the publication honors Tallahassee partner Ginger Barry Boyd for her work providing backpacks of food for children who otherwise would go without.

As an active member of the Junior League and Rotary, she connected with an organization called Food for Thought in Tampa. “Food for Thought provides backpacks filled with healthy food for kids who might not have enough to eat at home,” she explains. “Food is the first thing these kids need, and I can help with that.” Now back in Tallahassee, she packs backpacks with fellow Rotarians at Second Harvest of the Big Bend.
