Steven Shparber, of counsel in Nelson Mullins' D.C. office, moderated a panel at CRES Forum's "Real Clean Energy and Climate Change Solutions" event, exploring market-based technologies and policies aimed at reducing emissions and promoting renewable energy. The event was held on June 19 at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.
Shparber's panel, Technology and Policy of Renewables and Energy Efficiency, focused on federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting the development of renewable energy. The other panels at the event included one that features the South Carolina Energy Freedom Act as a case study and hosted, among others, S.C. Sen. Tom Davis of Beaufort and S.C. Rep. Nathan Ballentine of Richland County as speakers. U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz gave the keynote address.
As a member of the Firm's Energy & Utilities Industry group, Shparber focuses much of his practice providing strategic counsel to new participants in wholesale power markets, and advocates for new market opportunities on behalf of renewable energy providers and national renewable energy trade groups.
