Beyond the Law - Practical, Step-by-Step Guidance for IEPs, ESY, and Compensatory Services During COVID-19

View the recording of the webinar here.

Georgia Special Education Attorneys Sherry Culves and Nina Gupta will present a webinar for real-world guidance on avoiding IDEA liability during COVID-19. This webinar will jump right in to practical steps your school district should take right now to mitigate your risk and prepare for the onslaught of special education claims coming down the tracks. The webinar is aimed at those school districts who are already familiar with the law and existing state and federal guidance, and are in search of practical guidance on how to make decisions, implement services, and mitigate liability and risks. We will address school district’s FAQs, such as:

  • What should I do to avoid being a “sitting duck” for special education lawsuits?
  • Does my job description say “magician?” How do I pull all these IEP meetings out of my hat?
  • When and how am I supposed to get all of these evaluations done?
  • How do you expect me to implement meaningful ESY when regular school went off the rails?
  • Can you please tell me what compensatory services should look like and how to avoid breaking my budget?

What does this all look like in real life?
