Nelson Mullins' Helen E. Quick to Present at White House Project Event Hosted by Former Congresswoman Susan Molinari

QuickWASHINGTON (June 15, 2010) – The skills and knowledge necessary for more women to attain a seats on a corporate boards will be the topic of a presentation June 24 by Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough partner Helen E. Quick. The presentation, sponsored by The White House Project and hosted by Former Congresswoman Susan Molinari, will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of Bracewell & Giuliani, 2000 K Street NW, Suite 500, in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Quick practices in corporate, finance, mergers and acquisitions, healthcare, and securities.  She serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Library of Congress Child Care Association, a nonprofit subsidiary of The Library of Congress.   Ms. Quick is also the co-author of the first two editions of "Answering the Call – Understanding the Duties Risks and Rewards of Corporate Governance"  a book that provides an overview of what one should consider as a member of a board of directors – including an overview of the various areas a director may be personally liable, an in depth look at D&O insurance and a chapter on the importance of board diversity. 

Ms. Quick has been named to the 2010 DC Leadership Circle of The White House Project and is a founding member of the DC Chapter of WLMA (the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance). 

Ms. Quick will present along with Carolyn Campbell, Managing Director, General Counsel, and founding partner of Emerging Capital Partners.  With six funds and over $1.6 billion under management, ECP is one of the leading private equity managers focused on Africa.  She oversees the management of six funds, acts as the firm's Chief Compliance Officer and engages in deal sourcing, negotiation, portfolio management, fundraising, fund structuring, reporting, investor relations, and structuring and value creation. She serves on the boards of Salt Investment S.A. (Djibouti), Finagestion (France), Ocean & Oil Investments (Nigeria), Air Ivoire (Cote d'Ivoire) and Société Générale Assurance Méditerranéenne (Algeria).
