Nelson Mullins' Sullivan Named to Public Forum Institute Board

WASHINGTON, DC (March 15, 2011) -- Tom Sullivan, of counsel in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Washington office, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Public Forum Institute. The Forum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that facilitates public engagement on a range of policy issues, including small business and entrepreneurship. 

Mr. Sullivan represents clients seeking to have their matters heard in Congress and during the regulatory and rulemaking processes. He runs the Small Business Coalition for Regulatory Relief (www.SBCRR.com), and his clients include the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Before joining the Firm, Mr. Sullivan was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to the post of Chief Counsel for Advocacy, the highest ranking government official charged with exclusively advocating the views and needs of small business before government agencies and Congress.  During his six-year tenure as Chief Counsel, Inc. Magazine named Sullivan “an entrepreneur’s best friend in Washington.”  Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sullivan ran the NFIB Small Business Legal Center where he currently sits on the advisory board.   Mr. Sullivan also serves as the Senior Fellow in Regulatory Policy for the Institute for Liberty.
