Nelson Mullins Expands in Florida With the
Opening of a Jacksonville Office
JACKSONVILLE -- Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is expanding its presence in Florida with the opening of a Jacksonville office. Daniel B Nunn, Jr., and J. Phillip Gibbs join as partners, while R. Gene Aldridge joins as of counsel. The new office is located at 50 N. Laura St., 28th floor. The office becomes the Firm's 14th and the second in Florida.

Mr. Nunn and Mr. Gibbs focus their practices on business and corporate law. Mr. Nunn, who is serving as the office managing partner, practices in the areas of business and corporate law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and securities law and finance. He represents buyers, sellers, and management groups in taxable and nontaxable transactions involving public and private companies in merger and acquisition transactions, including stock acquisitions, divisional asset acquisitions and divestitures, tender offers and exchange offers, restructurings, going-private transactions, distressed company acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.
Mr. Gibbs practices business law including general representation of both privately owned and public companies with an emphasis in business acquisitions and sales, business formation and structuring, joint ventures, securities, corporate finance, private placements, secured lending transactions (real estate and asset based) and commercial leasing. Mr. Gibbs also represents public companies on disclosure and corporate governance issues, directors’ responsibilities and fiduciary duties, and other regulatory and compliance matters.
Mr. Aldridge practices in real estate acquisitions, sales, secured lending transactions (real estate and asset based), commercial leasings, financings, refinancings, workouts, title abstracting, and insurance issues. Mr. Aldridge is also a title insurance agent for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company and Stewart Title Guaranty Company.
Jacksonville-based Jana Kolarik Anderson, a partner in Nelson Mullins' Healthcare Practice Group, also will be resident in the Jacksonville office. She previously was associated with the Firm's Washington, DC, office.

Nelson Mullins opened its first Florida office in Tallahassee in 2009. Firm attorneys there work on automotive dealer, distributor, and franchise litigation for the world's manufacturers and importers operating in the United States.
The three Jacksonville attorneys join the Mergers & Acquisitions, Technology, and Tax team headed by Atlanta partner Michael Hollingsworth.
