Morrison Honored with Volunteer Fundraiser Award
COLUMBIA -- (Dec. 14, 2009) The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central South Carolina, has honored Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP Columbia partner Steve Morrison with an Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award for his work with United Way of the Midlands.
Mr. Morrison, along with Mary Kennemur, co-chaired the 2007-2008 United Way campaign and successfully generated $23 million over two years. The co-chairs contributed more than 300 hours in recruiting, building, and mobilizing a volunteer team of more than 200 to call on more than 500 businesses and organizations. Mr. Morrison also made personal calls and personally contributes a significant amount each year. Nelson Mullins also for 2007-2008 has had the highest or second highest number of Tocqueville Society givers – those who contribute personally more than $10,000 annually.
The Awards were presented during a National Philanthropy Day luncheon.
