Kim Le Joins Nelson Mullins Healthcare Team in Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 26, 2012) – Kim T. Le has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Washington office as an associate on the Healthcare & Regulated Transactions team.

Ms. Le advises hospitals, biotechnology companies, physicians, and other healthcare entities on a diverse range of corporate and regulatory matters. Her healthcare transactional work includes corporate formations, commercial contract negotiations, financing, corporate restructuring, governance documents, and operational matters. She provides regulatory counseling in the areas of fraud and abuse, health information privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA), health information technology, and compliance programs. She also serves as a client liaison to government agencies and applies her knowledge of federal, state, and local law to help clients understand the effects of emerging health legislation and public policy trends.

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Ms. Le represented major lending institutions in a variety of corporate matters, including securities transactions, commercial financing, asset sales/purchases, and corporate governance. While at the Yale University Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, she analyzed state and federal health risk communication strategies, focusing primarily on the Avian Flu H1N5 virus. In addition, she has worked with the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic, where she investigated communicable disease econometrics, and the United Nations' World Food Programme, where she reviewed policies aimed at improving humanitarian aid delivery in Uganda.

Ms. Le earned a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Le also earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Ethics & Health Law from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Maryland.
