GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 27, 2011) – Nelson Mullins paralegal Laurie Jerome was honored with the E.W. Mullins Sr. Paralegal Pro Bono Award for her commitment to pro bono service. Ms. Jerome works in the Greenville office.
Ms. Jerome provided invaluable help in connection with a lawsuit brought by the Firm against the South Carolina Department of Corrections on behalf of and seeking relief for mentally ill prisoners. This case is expected to be tried in 2012.
Ms. Jerome worked closely with colleagues on all aspects of discovery, including review and summary of complex medical files.
The E.W. Mullins Sr. Paralegal Pro Bono Award is named for Ed Mullins, Sr., a founding partner of Nelson Mullins. It was his strong belief that attorneys should give their time to help others, even if they could not pay. This award is given to paralegals who stand out among their peers for their outstanding work on pro bono matters. Paralegals must be nominated by the pro bono committee to be eligible for this award.
