Four Nelson Mullins Attorneys Recognized for Pro Bono Work
(Feb. 28, 2008) Four Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough attorneys have been recognized by the Firm with a 2007 Claude M. Scarborough Jr. Award for their commitment to their communities through pro bono service.
Partner Taylor Daly, based in Atlanta, received recognition for her work with JUSTGeorgia, described as the largest pro bono effort in the state. Ms. Daly organized the Firm's participation in conducting 58 interviews in 15 rural counties to gain information on needs and perceived needed changes to the state's juvenile justice system.
Associate Leslie Lane Mize, based in Raleigh, received recognition for her work since early 2006 representing a Colombian father in a custody dispute with a Colombian mother, who now resides in North Carolina.

Associates Jack Slosson, based in Charlotte, and Robert Whelan, based in Charleston, received recognition for their work in a nationally recognized prisoner's rights case.
The awards, named for Chairman Emeritus Claude M. Scarborough Jr., honors Firm attorneys who have made a special commitment to pro bono service. The awards have been given to outstanding Firm attorneys since 1991.
