Experienced Corporate Attorney
Joins Nelson Mullins in Atlanta

LeachATLANTA (Sept. 9, 2009) -- A corporate attorney with extensive experience representing companies, investment banks, and investors in public offerings, private placements, and M&A transactions has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in its Atlanta office. Karen K. Leach joins as a partner and also brings to the Firm substantial experience advising public companies on corporate governance, SEC compliance matters, and Sarbanes-Oxley.

Ms. Leach has represented companies in numerous industries, including banking, financial services, logistics, biotechnology, and e-commerce. She is a member of the Georgia Bar, the Atlanta Bar, and American Bar Associations. Ms. Leach currently serves as Vice Chair/Chair Elect for the Corporate Counsel Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and is former Chair of the Board of Directors of Gilda's Club Greater Atlanta, a nonprofit providing services for cancer victims and their families.

Ms. Leach earned her B.A. degree from Georgia State University in 1993. She received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Georgia State University in 1997.
