Governmental Affairs in Healthcare

U.S. federal legislation governing healthcare can be a complex maze. Navigating it requires hands-on experience on Capitol Hill and at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (“CMS”) and an in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry. Our attorneys assist clients with federal governmental affairs strategies, including public policy and statutory changes relating to health and insurance issues.

In addition, we work with clients to development and assist them with state governmental affairs strategies, including lobbying by the firm’s registered lobbyists on public policy and statutory changes relating to health and insurance issues.

We are bipartisan in our approach, maintaining strong relationships with lawmakers, committee staff and regulatory officials on both sides of the aisle. Our lawyers have respect on Capitol Hill, at CMS and at the state legislature, particularly in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, for their in-depth knowledge of health law and policy, enabling them to build the support they need to achieve results.

As an additional service, our government affairs team closely monitors health-related legislation and regulatory activity and provides our clients with regular updates. We then assist our clients in incorporating any new legislature or regulatory developments into their policies and procedures and into a lively and robust compliance program.
