In Raleigh, former Lt. Gov. Dennis Wicker offers considerable government relations experience to clients, having served in the state’s second highest government position from 1993-2001 and as a long-time member of the state’s largest legislative body.

Partner George Teague heads the North Carolina government relations practice and focuses on lobbying at the North Carolina General Assembly and offices of the executive branch of state government. He also handles administrative and regulatory matters before state government agencies including the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of the Attorney General. Mr. Teague has been ranked in the Top 50 Most Influential Lobbyists by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research.

Raleigh partner Charles Mercer advises clients on state and local taxes and economic development incentives. Mr. Mercer negotiated with the State of North Carolina and local government to secure incentives that led to the construction of a vaccine plant in the Research Triangle area.

Gerry Cohen retired in 2014 from the North Carolina General Assembly staff after 37 years of service. During his last two years he was special counsel to the General Assembly, serving the President Pro Tem of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and House and Senate minority leaders. He served as director of Bill Drafting for 31 years, supervising a staff of more than 40. He has broad experience in local government and election law, legislative process, and constitutional law.
