Nelson Mullins has significant experience representing businesses in technology and intellectual property issues, including computer software and other trade secret litigation, telecommunications, licensing, electronics, and industrial engineering.

In litigation matters, the Firm has handled computer cases in both state and federal courts throughout the United States and in foreign countries. Specifically, the Firm has served as national outside litigation counsel for various software developers. In that regard, the Firm recently defended matters filed in state and federal courts in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas and South Carolina. We also have been involved in international arbitrations, including computer software disputes in Geneva, Switzerland and Paris, France.

Despite our litigation and trial experience, we sometimes find that Alternative Dispute Resolution is in our clients’ best interest. In those cases, we actively promote the use of mediation and arbitration to resolve matters. Most recently, we successfully mediated two significant software disputes. One involved the payment of significant funds to the software developer by the developer’s customer, who previously had refused to pay based on alleged problems with the implementation.
