Summer Programs - Charlotte
Charlotte, which is centrally located between the beautiful Carolina mountains and coast, offers unlimited business, cultural and recreational opportunities. Nelson Mullins' Charlotte office hosts a small, flexible and thoroughly rewarding Summer Program. The firm hires Summer Associates with the hope and goal that they may be offered Associate positions upon graduation. It is anticipated that Summer Associates will work with a number of attorneys in the office and be exposed to many practice areas. In addition to litigation, the practice in the Charlotte office consists of a broad spectrum of corporate tax and securities issues, commercial real estate transactions and other complex commercial matters. Our attorneys will make every effort to ensure that Summer Associates are given projects that parallel their legal interests. Summer Associates will be encouraged to attend corporate closings, client interviews, depositions, court appearances, and other meetings outside of the office.
Summer Associates will get to know all of the attorneys and many of the staff at both impromptu and planned social gatherings. Attorneys are urged to mentor and provide Summer Associates with feedback on projects throughout the course of their stay, and a formal evaluation will be conducted prior to departure.
The Charlotte office will host a 12-week program, beginning mid-May and ending the first week of August. Students may be offered full or half-summer employment.
We hire our summer associates in a variety of ways. Nelson Mullins' North Carolina offices conduct on-campus interviews at USC, UNC, Duke, Vanderbilt and Virginia. We also participate in the Southeastern Minority Job Fair and the Southeastern Law Placement Consortium. Nelson Mullins' North Carolina offices will also accept resumes from students who are unable to participate in on-campus interviews. Please contact your career services office to determine the dates of our visit to your campus or write directly to our Legal Recruiting and Development Administrator, Carolyn C. Early (P.O. Box 30519, Raleigh, N.C. 27622).
