Tracy E. Tomlin is the managing partner of the Charlotte office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP where he practices in the areas of general litigation, product liability, toxic torts, premises liability, and business litigation. Mr. Tomlin represents product manufacturers in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast in significant personal injury and property damage cases. He has handled litigation for clients on a regional and national basis, and has extensive litigation management and trial experience in North Carolina and Florida in both federal and state courts. Mr. Tomlin practiced for 15 years in Miami, Florida before returning to North Carolina where he has developed a solid reputation as a trial attorney.

 A member of the Florida Bar and the North Carolina State Bar, Mr. Tomlin is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal, Third, Fourth, Sixth, and Eleventh Circuits; the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida; and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. A member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section), Mr. Tomlin is also a national member of the Order of Barristers, the Aviation Insurance Association, and the North Carolina Defense Lawyers’ Association.

Mr. Tomlin earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1984. While attending law school, he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and served as vice president of the Moot Court board. He earned a Master of Science from Old Dominion University in 1980, and a Bachelor of Science from Duke University in 1977.
