Taylor Tapley Daly is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP practicing in Atlanta in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, dispute resolution and collaborative law. Ms. Daly was admitted to the Bar in 1979. She represents business clients in cases involving breach of contract for sales and services, business disputes, property damage due to fire, flood or wind, shipping and freight claims, contractual indemnifications, insurance subrogation and bad faith claims. She represents manufacturers and dealers of products including manufactured housing and recreational vehicles, food products, construction equipment, material handling equipment, scaffolding and personnel lifts, toxic chemical substances, children’s products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, alcoholic beverages, and sporting products. In her practice, she has significant experience with complex medical and technical issues, with class action, multi-district and multi-claim litigation involving pharmaceuticals, dental products, food products, and manufactured housing. She has experience with product recalls and consumer warnings campaigns. She has managed aspects of national and/or regional litigation for a variety of clients, which management responsibility included development of systems for investigation of claims, litigation processing, national defense strategies, local counsel networks, and national settlement strategies. Ms. Daly has also handled numerous cases involving sexual misconduct including claims for negligent transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.

A registered Mediator/Arbitrator with the Georgia Supreme Court since the inception of that program in 1994, Ms. Daly is a member of the commercial and tort arbitration and mediation rosters for the American Arbitration Association. Ms. Daly is also a trained collaborative law professional. She serves regularly as a neutral in matters with substantial monetary damages at issue; in commercial cases involving breach of contracts for services, sales, employment, franchise, professional partnerships, freight claims and shipping, insurance coverage issues and bad faith; and in tort matters involving personal injury, slander/libel, and sexual misconduct.

Ms. Daly’s recent speaking engagements include presentations on “Techniques in ADR”, “Insurer Reservations or Rights and Duty to Defend Insured”, “Limitations of Liability and Indemnification Provisions in Contracts for Sales and Services”, “Women in Negotiation”, and "Collaborative Law Practice in the Civil Context". Ms. Daly was a panelist at the ABA’s Dispute Resolution Section meeting in April 2008, speaking on the topic of the impact of gender on negotiation. She also serves as a trainer and presenter on collaborative law models in the civil practice context.

Active in pro bono, Ms. Daly serves as Nelson Mullins’ team leader for the JUSTGeorgia project, a project involving statewide analysis of and recommendations for changes to the state’s juvenile justice system and currently serves on the Atlanta Legal Aid Society's Advisory Committee and as the Administrator of the Atlanta Bar Dispute Resolution Lawyers Pro Bono Mediation Program for Atlanta Legal Aid. She has served as a facilitator for the Consortium on Negotiations and Conflict Resolution, College of Law, Georgia State University’s Program for Conflict Resolution in Public Schools and as pro bono legal counsel to the Maternal and Child Health Institute.

Ms. Daly is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Georgia, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Third and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association (Board Member at Large 2006 – 2007; Atlanta Dispute Resolution Lawyers Section, Chair 2005 – 2006, Board Member 1999 - present), the Defense Research Institute, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.
