Elizabeth Scott Moïse is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in Charleston in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith, product liability defense, consumer finance, and class action litigation.

Since 1991, Ms. Moïse has handled numerous insurance coverage and bad faith cases and has managed complex litigation from beginning through trial and appeal in cases involving automobiles, trucks, tires, vehicle components, boats, and other products, and she has served as national discovery counsel in product liability litigation. Additionally, she has handled numerous federal and state appeals in cases ranging from product liability to complex business law.
 
In 2008, she was awarded the first South Carolina Law Review Alumni Award and was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. Previously, she received the Firm's Claude M. Scarborough, Jr. Pro Bono Award. She has served on the Firm's Recruiting and Associates' Committees and served as Chair of the Recruiting Committee.

A member of the South Carolina Bar, Ms. Moïse is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of South Carolina School of Law since 1992 and the Charleston School of Law since 2004.
 
Ms. Moïse is co-author of The Law of Automobile Insurance in South Carolina, third, fourth, and fifth editions and is co-author of the Product Liability chapter of the South Carolina Practice Manual. She also served as chairwoman of the editorial board for Impeachment Evidence: Attacking and Supporting the Credibility of Witnesses in South Carolina (1996) and served on the editorial board for The Law of Workers Compensation in South Carolina (1990). Additionally, she was co-author of "Employee Handbooks in South Carolina: The Employers Dilemma," 42 S.C. L. Rev. 469 (1991). She currently serves on the editorial panel for the third edition of Garner's Modern American Usage. Ms. Moïse also writes a column on legal writing for the South Carolina Lawyer magazine.
 
She is active in the community and serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of South Carolina, the Harleston Village Neighborhood Association, and the Charleston Chapter of the American Heart Association. 

In 1989, Ms. Moïse earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review from 1988-89. She was a member of the John Belton O'Neall Inn of Court and received an American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts in 1987. Additionally, she was awarded the law school's Claud M. Sapp Award for leadership, scholarship, and industry.  Ms. Moïse also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English from the University of South Carolina.
