Sarah Loya is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta where she practices general corporate law with an emphasis in the areas of  mergers & acquisitions, venture capital, and financing transactions.

Before joining Nelson Mullins, Ms. Loya worked for another law firm in Atlanta. Her work included managing general corporate matters and transactions in a variety of industries including technology, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing and business services.  Ms. Loya has experience counseling clients on mergers, stock sales, asset sales, recapitalizations, joint venture transactions, corporate governance, employment matters, customer contracts, securities law compliance, entity selection and formation, licensing and other general corporate matters.

She is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. Ms. Loya is an Executive Board Member and Secretary of Chayil, Inc., a local nonprofit that provides assistance to domestic violence survivors.

Ms. Loya earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2005.  She was a Senior Annotated Notes Editor for the American Criminal Law Review and participated in the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic.

In 2002, Ms. Loya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs and Psychology, with distinction, from the University of Virginia.
