Reese C. Porter is of counsel to the Corporate and Securities Group of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta whose practice focuses on securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, bank regulatory, corporate governance, and other general corporate matters.
Mr. Porter’s experience includes representing issuers, underwriters and placement agents in pubic and private securities offerings. He also advises these entities on bank regulatory issues, public reporting obligations, executive compensation, fiduciary duty and corporate governance issues, and other general corporate matters. Mr. Porter also advises clients with respect to bank mergers and acquisitions, including FDIC-assisted transactions.
Mr. Porter developed his practice while serving as an associate in the corporate group at a large law firm headquartered in Atlanta. In addition, Mr. Porter served as a Staff Attorney with the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, Atlanta, Ga., from 2001 to 2003.
In 2000, Mr. Porter completed a joint degree program and earned a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida where he was a member of the honorary society Phi Kappa Phi.
