Jody A. Bedenbaugh is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in Columbia in the areas of banking, creditors' rights, and bankruptcy.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Bedenbaugh is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association.
In 2003, Mr. Bedenbaugh earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was named to the Order of the Coif, the Order of Wig and Robe, and served as associate editor in chief of the South Carolina Law Review. He received CALI Awards in Contracts II, Professional Responsibility, Real Estate Transactions I, and Civil Procedure.
Mr. Bedenbaugh is the author of “Buyer be happy: The art of selling assets in bankruptcy,” Columbia Regional Business Report, Sept.7-20, 2009; “Comment: Liability of Design Professionals for Purely Economic Loss in South Carolina,” 53 S.C. L. REV. 701 (2002); and co-author of “You Say You Want a Revolution: The Bankruptcy Reform Act,” 17 SC Lawyer 40 (July 2005).
In 1999, Mr. Bedenbaugh earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina.
