Christopher J. Blake is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. Practicing in Raleigh, Mr. Blake's practice focuses on business and commercial litigation matters in North Carolina state and federal courts and in other Southeastern states. Mr. Blake regularly appears before state regulatory agencies, including the N.C. Utilities Commission, the N.C. Department of Insurance and the N.C. Industrial Commission. He has appeared in arbitration proceedings and other dispute resolution forums.

Mr. Blake represents clients in general commercial and business disputes, ranging from complex contractual disputes to cases alleging claims of fraud, bad faith, breach of fiduciary duty, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Mr. Blake's representation of insurance carriers and the N.C. Insurance Guaranty Association exposes him to all aspects of general liability claims in North Carolina and related insurance coverage matters.

Mr. Blake is a member of the American Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.  Mr. Blake also is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel where he serves on the Commercial Litigation and Insurance Sections.   He has served on the board of Kid's Voting-North Carolina/Wake.  Mr. Blake is also active in the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Blake earned a Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America in 1986, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Pace University in 1983.  Mr. Blake joined Nelson Mullins in 2004.  He previously worked in the Washington, DC office of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, and the Raleigh, NC office of Moore & Van Allen.
