Byron C. Starcher is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors' rights (with an emphasis on debt finance and restructuring), commercial finance, and financial institutions. A member of the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia, Mr. Starcher is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Starcher served as vice president of portfolio management for a publicly traded factoring company where he supervised due diligence for all accounts and served as liaison with outside legal counsel. He also served as law clerk for Chief Judge William L. Stocks of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Mr. Starcher is a member of the American Bar Association. In 2006, he was named to the advisory board of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal at the Emory University School of Law.
In 1999, Mr. Starcher earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law where he served as Executive Editor of the Florida State Law Review and was a member of the Mock Trial Team. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in 1989, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Furman University in 1983.
