William C. Wood, Jr. is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia where he practices in the areas of insurance coverage, business litigation, and appellate advocacy.
A member of the South Carolina Bar (member, Practice and Procedure and Ethics Advisory Committees), Mr. Wood is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. Mr. Wood is a member of the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Richland County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. From 1990-92, Mr. Wood served as judicial clerk to Judge Clyde H. Hamilton of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 1990, Mr. Wood earned a Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law where he received American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts, Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law. He earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy, magna cum laude, from Regent University in 1986; a Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 1984; and an Associate of Arts from Emmanuel College in 1982.
