Andy Bertron practices civil and administrative litigation with a special emphasis on motor vehicle franchise litigation and counseling. He assists manufacturers and distributors with add points, relocations, terminations, post-termination obligations, dealer advertising, sales incentives, allocations systems, dealer exporting, and other dealer franchise issues. He has extensive experience with retail distribution networks and has represented petroleum marketers for many years. Mr. Bertron is one of five attorneys in the State of Florida selected as a Super Lawyer in 2011 in the area of franchise and dealership law.
Mr. Bertron began practicing law in Tallahassee in 1993, focusing his practice on representing clients before state executive branch and cabinet-level agencies in Florida, including the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings where most disputes with state agencies are litigated. He has represented numerous clients before the Division of Administrative Hearings and state and federal courts on matters including rule challenges, bid protests, regulatory enforcement, environmental liability, price gouging, insurance coverage, advertising and licensure. Mr. Bertron also has extensive experience assisting petroleum marketers with environmental compliance, litigation, supply agreements, dealer networks and Petroleum Marketing Practice Act issues.
He is admitted to practice in Florida and all U.S. District Courts in Florida. He is a past-chair of the Florida Bar Administrative Law Section Executive Council.
He earned a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law, where he was a Fellow with the Center for Governmental Responsibility. Mr. Bertron received an M.B.A. from Columbia University, and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina.
