Nesli I. Doran is an associate in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Boston office. She is a member of the high-technology intellectual property group where she focuses on clean technology, electrical & computer, mechanical, medical devices, and software technologies.
Ms. Doran assists with the strategic development, protections, and management of U.S. and international patent portfolios for a wide variety of companies, including world leaders and start-ups. Her experience with patent prosecution expands in the areas of computer science, mechanical engineering, medical devices and electrical engineering.
Her notable experience includes:
- Assisting with the prosecution of an extensive international patent portfolio for a leading global provider of software for technical computing and model-based design.
- Assisting with prosecution of an extensive domestic patent portfolio for a major automobile manufacturer related to its fuel cell technologies.
- Assisting with the prosecution of medical devices, industrial products, wind turbines, and power tool patent applications.
- Working with the National Transportation Systems Research Center concentrating on improving communication devices for railroad workers with a focus on human factors engineering applications.
Ms. Doran is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Women’s Bar Association.
She earned her Juris Doctor in 2011 from Suffolk University Law School. She earned a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and in Technology & Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005. Ms. Doran earned her Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2000. She is fluent in French and Turkish, intermediate in Italian.
