Jon Neiditz is a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Atlanta office and founder and co-leader of the Firm's rapidly growing Information Management Practice. Jon is known nationally for developing and implementing cost-effective information governance and management programs that effectively address the risks, costs and opportunities associated with electronic information -- including in communications, collaboration and networking technologies; cloud computing and e-records management -- and as a trusted advisor on data management issues.

Jon's practice is global and spans all areas of operations, relationships, transactions and disputes, focusing particularly on:

Jon has also led in community service. He has chaired community nonprofits, and to help provide much-needed services in the current economy, he now serves as Vice Chair of the Georgia Free Clinic Network. He regularly assists with strategic planning for new and established public and private ventures. As a lawyer, consultant and community leader, Jon focuses on practical, cost-effective solutions to complex problems and on establishing innovative relationships of trust and transparency. 

His representative experience includes:

  • Global privacy and information security counsel to some of the largest companies in the US;
  • Assisting in mitigation of thousands of information security breaches in a manner that has contributed to assuring that no lawsuits have ever been filed in connection with any such breaches;
  • Preparing comprehensive records and document management and e-discovery readiness programs, including policies, procedures, schedules, guidelines, and training modules, and often including technology assessment, for many hundreds of insurance and financial services companies, technology companies, healthcare organizations, retailers, manufacturers, government agencies and academic institutions;
  • Regularly developing and assisting in implementation of comprehensive information management programs, “e-policies” and privacy, information security and identity theft red flags programs;
  • Preparing electronic communications policies, computer use policies, and employee monitoring policies for hundreds of clients;
  • Developing and assisting in implementation and assessment of compliance programs for governmental and private information requirements, including requirements in all US and non-US jurisdictions, for many hundreds of organizations;
  • Regularly developing programs for management of information throughout the supply chain and across alliances, and drafting information management outsourcing and procurement RFPs and contracts;
  • Advising many organizations on creation and maintenance of enforceable electronic transactions and admissible electronic documents;
  • Advising companies on existing records and document inventories and electronic information stores, making recommendations and offering solution sets regarding creation, maintenance, preservation, classification, metadata, search and destruction;
  • Serving as general counsel to many health organizations and as counsel, consultant, and director to many human services organizations; and
  • Designing, drafting, negotiating and implementing state-level health insurance reform and workers' compensation reform laws and rules.
