John T. Moore is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia where he leads the Firm's Financial Institutions Team and practices in the areas of debtor and creditors' rights, financial institutions, and consumer compliance law. He has served as general counsel to the South Carolina Bankers Association since 1989 and general counsel to the South Carolina Student Loan Association since 2005. He chaired the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Study Committee on Article 9 revisions (2000-2001) and Articles 3 and 4 (2006-2008). A member of the South Carolina Bar (former chairman of Corporation, Banking and Securities, 1986-87, and Consumer Law, 1985-86), Mr. Moore is admitted to practice before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for District of South Carolina.
