Jessica Walbridge is a senior policy advisor for EducationCounsel LLC.

Prior to joining the firm Ms. Walbridge served as the Director of Fiscal Management at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education for the District of Columbia. In that role she managed the agency’s $400 million budget and served as the lead for Federal education grants and the management of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). Before serving as the Director of Fiscal Management she  held the positions of Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Planning & Performance.

Previous positions held by Ms. Walbridge include Assistant Director for the Parks & People Foundation in Baltimore, MD, and Strategy Consultant for the International Youth Foundation also in Baltimore.

Since earning her MBA Jessica has worked solely with mission-based organization, applying her skills and knowledge on behalf of building fiscally and operationally sustainable enterprises. Jessica also had five years of experience working in the private sector as an equity research analyst.

Jessica first developed her interest in the education field while interning in a HeadStart classroom in Bethlehem, Pa. That experience motivated her to pursue teaching full time and ultimately land a position as a kindergarten teacher at the Pingry School in Short Hills, NJ. Jessica has three years of classroom experience and many years of volunteer and tutoring work with children, youth and activities related to public libraries and literacy.

Jessica earned her Masters of Business Administration in 2003 from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education, cum laude, from Lehigh University in 1993.
