Mr. Claypoole is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP who practices in Charleston, South Carolina.  Mr. Claypoole handles a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including golf, hotel and resort property development and finance, land sales registrations, sales of timberland, representation of construction and permanent lenders and developers and lease negotiation on behalf of both landlords and tenants.  He has experience with the development and documentation of planned and mixed-use communities, including condominiums, condominium hotels, hotels, rental management programs, homeowners' association covenants and bylaws, restrictions, easements and condominium master deeds.

 

Mr. Claypoole is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the American Bar Association (Hotels, Resorts, and Tourism committee) and the National Association of Condo Hotel Owners (Developer Resources committee).  He is a founding member and director of The First Tee of Greater Charleston.

 

Mr. Claypoole earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was named to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Wig and Robe and served as Editor in Chief of the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal.  Mr. Claypoole also earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University.
