Eva R. Bateman is an associate in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Greenville office, where she focuses her practice on corporate securities, bank regulatory, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters, with an emphasis on community banks and established private companies headquartered in South Carolina. Ms. Bateman represents financial institutions and their holding companies during organization, capital raising, and business combination processes. She advises these entities on both bank regulatory issues and public reporting obligations.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, Ms. Bateman is also a member of the Greenville County Bar Association and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.
She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2009, where she earned a CALI Award for Excellence in the areas of corporate finance, corporate taxation, and non-corporate taxation. While in law school, she was a member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, the Student Bar Association Social Committee, and the Women’s Law Student Association, and she served as a Law Student Advisor. She is also a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.
Ms. Bateman earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Business Administration, with a concentration in pre-medical studies, in 2006 from Furman University.
