Douglas R. Spear practices in Atlanta, where he focuses on the representation of emerging and growth stage technology companies in various sectors, as well as venture capital firms and angel investors.

Mr. Spear works proactively with companies at various stages of their development to solve business and legal problems in a practical and efficient manner.

He also has experience in representing clients in M&A transactions, private placements, and various forms of debt financings. Mr. Spear advises clients on various legal and business matters, including entity formation, corporate governance, capitalization issues, equity compensation strategies, employment matters, capital-raising considerations, customer contracts, and securities law compliance.

Mr. Spear is involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations in Atlanta and previously served on the board of directors of Jewish Family and Career Services.

Mr. Spear has been named a Georgia Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2009, 2010 2011, and 2012.

In 1998, Mr. Spear earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Spear received his B.A., with honors, in 1995 from the University of Pennsylvania.
