Donald R. Pocock is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Pocock’s areas of practice include business and commercial litigation, class action defense, construction litigation, professional liability, and product liability.
 
Mr. Pocock has represented individuals, businesses, corporations, financial institutions and other organizations in disputes related to contracts, torts, land use, consumer rights, employment and labor issues, and trade secrets.  He also has experience representing and advising individuals and businesses in the construction industry including contractors, architects, engineers and building product designers, manufacturers, and distributors.  His experience includes traditional litigation as well as alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration and mediation.
 
Mr. Pocock is admitted to the North Carolina State Bar, and is further admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, and the United States Supreme Court.  He has appeared in litigation in courts across North Carolina and further has experience in disputes in South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Texas. 
 
He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association where he currently sits on the Civil Practice and Law School Liaison Committees and is an active member of both the Construction Law and Litigation Sections.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the ABA Litigation Section. 
 
Mr. Pocock earned a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2000.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Pocock was elected to the Order of Barristers and awarded the Robert F. Goldberg Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.  In 1999, Mr. Pocock was a National Semi-Finalist in the National Trial Competition sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers.  Mr. Pocock earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in English and Theatre from Wake Forest University in 1997.
