Changes in the Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence (Third Edition)

The first edition of the REFERENCE MANUAL ON SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE was published in 1994 shortly after the United States Supreme Court decided Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals, Inc., 509 U.S. 579, 113 S.Ct. 2786, 125 L.Ed.2d 469 (1993). The REFERENCE MANUAL ON SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE (Second Edition) (“RMSE Second”) was published in 2000. The REFERENCE MANUAL ON SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE (Third Edition) (“RMSE Third”) was published in September 2011.
