BackTask Force on Financial Reform

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP has assembled attorneys in multiple practice areas and throughout its many offices to create the Task Force on Financial Reform. The Task Force ensures that clients will have the full benefits of Nelson Mullins' breadth and experience in financial matters.

The Task Force advises and assists clients regarding financial legislative reform, regulatory initiatives, compliance, recapitalization, reorganizations, sales and purchases of assets, bankruptcy and workouts, governmental and internal investigations, and litigation and advocacy.

The Task Force also prepares and distributes regular updates to inform clients about legislative and regulatory developments and how those developments might directly impact their businesses.

Nelson Mullins attorneys have broad experience working with federal departments and regulatory agencies, including the Department of Treasury, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Office of Thrift Supervision, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Members of the Task Force were heavily involved in the Resolution Trust Corporation, the federally owned asset management company charged with liquidating assets of savings and loan associations declared insolvent in the 1980s. Attorneys in the Task Force have years of experience in litigation and corporate, securities, financial institutions, banking, and bankruptcy law.
