Low Income Housing Tax Credit Transactions
Attorneys in the Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group have represented CDFIs and other affordable housing lenders, developers and housing authorities in numerous LIHTC transactions nationwide. The attorneys in this group have assisted CDFIs, and other affordable housing lenders, in negotiating and drafting loan documents, evaluating transactions, closing transactions and establishing loan programs. In representing developers, the attorneys in this group have experience in applying for tax credits, complying with tax credit program requirements and syndicating tax credits.
The attorneys in this group come from diverse backgrounds in tax, finance, real estate and environmental law. As a group, these attorneys can handle all aspects of a LIHTC transaction from start to finish, utilizing diverse knowledge and skills to exceed the expectations of any client.
Housing Authority and Agency Representation
Nelson Mullins has represented clients in matters involving nonprofit entities, partnerships, limited liability companies, and housing authorities. Firm engagements include all contract negotiation matters, commercial real estate, and complex leases. The firm also negotiates as warranted with local, state, and federal agencies, cities and counties, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Nelson Mullins has extensive experience in home loan regulation, Federal Home Loan Bank financing, CDFI financing, municipal bond financing of affordable housing, community development block grants, the legislative arena, procurement, HOPE VI, and other state and federal financing sources of affordable housing and community development.
Section 8 Rental Voucher Program
